My favorite Financial Freedom Books
1. The 4-Hour Workweek
BY TIM FERRIS
Tim Ferris is a successful entrepreneur who has sold millions of books and hosts a motivational podcast.
Tim motivates you to work smarter rather than harder. It also urges you to stop thinking and do instead. I also agreed with his concept of having mini-retirements throughout your life. Not everyone wants to quit their jobs, but achieving the perfect work-life balance is critical to happiness!
2. Rich Dad Poor Dad
BY ROBERT KYOSAKI
Robert Kyosaki discusses how he grew up and learnt about money from two very different fathers in this book (one was the father of his childhood friend). His not-so-rich father’s beliefs contrast dramatically from those of his wealthy father’s friend, revealing extremely different perspectives on life and riches.
This book taught us the value of financial education and how little we are taught about it as children. The most important lesson I learnt from “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” was the distinction between assets and liabilities, as well as the necessity of having money work for you rather than you having to work for money.
3. The Magic of Thinking Big
BY DAVID JOSEPH SCHWARTZ
The first edition of this book was published in 1959, but there’s a reason why it’s been read and appreciated by over 6 million people: the message is just as important today as it was back then. The book is all about self-confidence, overcoming negativity, and believing in oneself. You can only obtain happiness by dreaming large and surrounding yourself with positivity!
4. The Millionaire Next Door
BY THOMAS STANLEY AND WILLIAM DANKO
A fascinating look at who the true billionaires are: those who live far below their means and have amassed significant fortune via hard work and savings. Stanley Thomas speaks with hundreds of millionaires, all of whom are completely different from you. They don’t always come from Hollywood, but they are frequently neighbours. If you want to be a millionaire one day, this book is a must-read.
5. The Simple Path to Wealth
BY JIM COLLINS
This book by Jim Collins provides an excellent overview of Index Investing and the reasons for its long-term success. This book is for you if you want your money to work for you, if you want a basic strategy, and if you don’t want to toy with risky techniques.
These books are not all that is there to fulfill your dreams. Always remember your dreams are fulfilled by the actions you take.
