6800 tramadol tablets seized under the supervision of CP Jalandhar Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police today detained two drug peddlers and recovered 6800 Tramadol tablets (commercial amount) from them in a significant operation aimed at disrupting the district’s narcotics supply.
In a press note Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, said that after receiving a tip, a police party led by Sub Inspector Mr. Bhagatveer Singh conducted a special check at the T-point near the Lal Rattan Cinema. According to him, police received information that Ashwani Sharma alias Binny s/o Des Raj r/o Makhdoompura, who owns the Krishna Medical Store near Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar, was distributing Tramadol pills in his Honda Civic car, PB-08 BH 0297. CP Mr. Bhullar stated that the Sub Inspector, along with Drug Inspector Ms. Anupam Kalia, raided the shop and did a thorough inspection of the vehicle.
The police party seized 3800 Tramadol tablets from the automobile, according to the Commissioner of Police.
During the investigation, he added, Sharma revealed that he had been doing this business for a long time and that he used to get the tablets from Samrat Sabharwal s/o Charanjit Lal r/o House number 304 Dilbagh Nagar, who owns the Shakti Trader Medical Shop in Dilkusha Market. Another Police group, led by Sub Inspector Amanpreet Kaur and Drug Inspector Ms. Anupam Kalia, searched the business at Dilkusha Market, according to Mr. Bhullar.
The police party recovered 3000 Tramadol tablets from the shop, according to the Commissioner of Police. According to him, the shop’s owner, Samrat Sabharwal, was arrested and a case was filed. Mr. Bhullar stated that the matter is still being investigated to determine the forward and backward links in the drug supply chain.
