S. Pargat Singh was a potential Indian hockey defender. On the 5th of March in the year 1965, he was born in Mithapur, Punjab. Pargat Singh rose to fame as a result of his outstanding performance at the Asian Games and Asia Cup. He is one of the world’s best defenders. He captained the Indian men’s hockey team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Before entering politics, working as a Special Police Officer with the Punjab Police Department. He was also honored with an Arjun Award in 1989.
Though he faced many difficulties in his life yet he always manages to put his step forward to change the scene into something positive. When he came into politics, he had his own ways through which he gained confidence among people. He strongly believes in the Unity of government and internal government.
In an interview, he mentioned that unity is the only way where we can discuss and resolve problems. He also said that the more intellectuals get involved in the administration, the more problems could break down. He is a person who closely relates to the common man. That’s why S. Pargat Singh, the former captain of the Indian hockey team, decided to return the Padma Shri award he won in 1998 for his great contribution to the sport to show solidarity with farmers protesting the new agricultural rules.
Pargat Singh has made India proud not only because of his glorious achievements but also because of his great contributions to society. His smart and witty mindset always tries to find various ways to find good things and make them great.
